Zechariah a prophet to the Jews whose name means "the Lord remembers" called the people to remember God's promises.. He also reassured the people that God will establish his rule on earth through the soon coming Messiah whom he had prophesied would enter Jerusalem some hundreds of years later...The Messiah's rule would come but until then the people had time to prepare for it.. They had time to be faithful to God.. To repent of their sins and live obedient to God's Word...
We are indeed living now in the last days.. Take a look around you and we see a world in the throes of labour pains.. Rumours of wars, famine, political mayhem, people being lovers of themselves, nations who do not fear God.. And so much more.. This is the time for us to get right with God because Jesus is coming back for His people.. I remember I used to think.. Wow I been hearing that Jesus is coming back soon since I was a kid.. So we must be waaaay closer to meeting our Saviour than before right?.. Let's not get caught out sleeping!.. The signs are out there.. We can't bury our heads in the sand and think we have all the time in the world to get right with God!.. We don't!..
This is the time to repent.. This is the time to turn your back on living a life of sin.. This is the time to say yes to Jesus!.. This is the time to acknowledge Jesus as your Saviour.. Because it is only through Him do we have salvation.. It is only through Christ Jesus that we are saved.. Listen.. Being good and living a 'good' life is not good enough..sorry!.. That won't save you from eternal damnation.. Don't fall into that trap.. just because you don't curse.. pay money to charity regularly and help the elderly across the street every now and again.. Don't think thats all it takes to get to heaven! It's not!.. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone..
In John 14:6 Jesus says ...'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.'.
This is the time for repentance.. This is the time to turn back to God.. Complete surrender.. No holding back.. Say Yes to Jesus today!

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness.. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Amen
